Sunday for us usually means lunch at the Bowling Club. It is a very short walk up the hill
out the front where a vine with lovely purple flowers has made itself a home
past bins ready for Monday morning collection….
I should mention that at this point, just outside our gate, we are halfway there from Watermark’s front door. When our house is built, our Sunday lunchtime journey will be reduced by about 25%!
We approach from the back, which can look a bit like the outside of a house awaiting the “bulky item collection”, but it is all a part of the charm.
Up the front steps and inside to order
Then a pleasant wait, with no end of entertainment provided by the Wall of Fame, bowls, children playing in the park, kookaburras….
The food is always delicious and portions generous. I often end up taking half of my meal home and then having it for lunch during the week.
Today we decided to walk off some of our calories with a wander down along Bradley’s Beach. We loved the crab drawings – much like the bug drawings on our tree bark! We don’t see this on our side of the Island.
We passed amazing jasmine bushes that smelled heavenly
The tide was particularly low and we were able to get all the way home via the shoreline, something we had not attempted to do before. It was fascinating to see a series of new perspectives and we even met some neighbours we have never even seen in the year we have been here. We felt as though we had been on a real adventure!
Then home again via the south end of Chris and Linda’s house – an aspect that we had also never seen. We had never even noticed the amazing Mangrove tree, and were fascinated by what looks like a miniature forest trying to gain a foothold in the sand. Presumably a wannabe Mangrove swamp.
Ah…….. just another beautiful winter’s day on Dangar!!
