Fully Functional

It’s been a long time coming, but we are fully functional upstairs. The long awaited shower curtain rod arrived a few weeks ago, so we no longer need to go downstairs for anything!  We even had overnight guests a few days ago and luxuriated in the lack of interference with each other.

So here it is…

Ta Da!!

So much ado about….a shower curtain.

Still unfinished bits and pieces, including a fit out of the TV room and getting an aerial for TV reception, but that’s not important to us. The only reason it is important to Alec is that I refuse to consider a house warming event until it is done, along with a proper desk and living room cupboard (where the gaping hole is.)

It’s pretty ugly….  and I am not too keen on a party anyway….

The upper garden is also complete with the planting of 100+ natives over the weekend. It has been hot and dry so daily watering will be needed until they are well established, or it rains again.

It is very difficult to see the little guys in the sea of mulch and eucalyptus leaves, but the variety of shapes, colours and textures will be lovely.

More time for fun activities in the garden and kitchen. My first large batch of Kombucha following a very successful trial run.  Flavoured with lemon peel and powdered ginger.

I now have 3 SCOBYs, so can experiment and share.

Summer is coming…… Avocado and Finger Lime trees and heirloom tomato plants on the way.  Abundant peas and beans still in the garden along with a couple of remaining cabbages and silver beet. Cucumbers, carrots and beets sprouting up….  life is good.

I finally figured it out … you do all that traveling because you could not shower at home. So finally … but that brings up another question … where has Alec been showering? That may be the real boon that he is fnally cleaning up his act.

I have had follow-ups to your last trip to the US from the Department of Homeland Security. You planned to go to Houston, but you didn’t want to go, so you sent a hurricane instead. You went to NY and they can blame any number of Trump things on to you. So you thought about Florida, nope , so you sent a hurricane instead. Finally you went to Southern California and huge wild fires. I have been gently asked where and when your next US trip might be … they want to position the national guard and a few million liters of water before you arrive.

Life trundles on: 5 weeks and we are off to Venice, wish I could tell you about the flight route but … and then our ship back home … and you may have spoiled that for us too …(thanks a lot). I am not sure what there is left to do in St. Martins and St. Thomas, you did some of your best work there. Martinique still has power, but we know not what else, you may need to work on your navigation abilities again, as I am sure all those islands look alike. I am sure Oceania will re-route us, but the Coast Guard and the Navy specifically asked us not to tell you where. Something about Mata Hari and a tennis ball.

Congratulation on the house. Now you can start on the summer palace!

    Love always🐕

    Bruce

    Thanks
