It’s hard to believe that we have been here over a year now. In some ways it seems like a lifetime, but we certainly thought we would be well and truly settled in out own house by now.
But there is now light at the end of the tunnel.
The new plans are lodged with Hornsby Council, and they expect to have formal approval in about 30 days.
The biggest hurdle was the trees. Formal approval was received a few weeks ago, and Hornsby Trees is coming next week to cut the 2 trees down and prune the ones that are staying.
The “before” pictures:
In the top photo, it is the tree in the foreground, on the right.
In the bottom photo, the one with the white line.
Here is a photo of the full lot, taken from the far edge of the grass.
Some random images from the last year….
New electricity infrastructure, poles dropped in via helicopter.
Discovering a lovely orchid and potting it for safe-keeping till the house is built.

Sleeping in the shed.

And I wouldn’t be here at all without my wonderful mother, who celebrated her 90th birthday this year. How I would love to give her a tour of the island.
So exciting!! Can’t wait to visit.
