Today is Alec’s 76th birthday.

On Friday, I came home to find him on the roof of the shed, removing screws from the panels in preparation for full de-construction by a team of young Frenchmen on Tuesday.

I freaked out and told him in no uncertain terms that he was never to go on that or any other roof again.

24 hours later, I was still unrelenting, but agreed to seek other opinions as to the fool-hardiness of a person of his age and size climbing around on a roof.

So please tell me if I am being unduly paranoid.
